So i am kind of worried about setting some of my skills to legendary. I wanted to set my Archery skill to legendary but i read somewhere that you do not lose all of your perks and it makes your bow misfire because of some miscalculations. I have also heard things about other skills such as blocking and lockpicking. If you have perks in those skills and you set them to legendary, it will mess up your game. So far i have only legendaried Alteration because i havent put any perks in them yet. Are there any skills that COMPLETELY refund your perks and wont mess up your game if you set them legendary?

Anytime you make a skill legendary all perks you invested into that skill are returned and it sets back to level 15. Thats it.

You should stop listening to these people who are giving you false information.

Legendary simply wipes any skill you select clean and resets it to 15. I've not experienced any glitches with the process at all.

However, a word of caution: be sure you really want to reset skills associated with battle. If you're upper level, a loss of Ranger (for example) can impair your game greatly, if you're facing more Deathlords and can't easily move and fire at the same time.

Most people reset other skills such as Lockpicking so they can apply those perks elsewhere. At higher levels, the loss of Lockpicking isn't much of an issue.
