I think I encountered a minor bug handing this quest in. It's nothing game breaking, but like any other glitch, still a nuisance. Just wanted to check if this is a known issue. I did in fact finish the quest and it is inactive in my journal and I did get the promotion. I did not however get a separate journal entry (55) about advancement and another little present from Caius. Also Huleeya's Notes and The Progress of Truth are still in my bag. It's nothing major really, I could just forget it and continue the game, but if there's a way to solve this problem, I would like to redo the quest 'properly'.

I'm running a Steam GOTY version of the game with a very limited number of mods, which are mostly patches and fixes (including BTB's version of MPP, UMPP Fixes and minimal treatment GOTYST, if that's important at all. There are couple of other tiny mods, but they're not supposed to affect this part lf the game at all. Actually I don't think it's a mod-related problem at all, but you never know...

I would greatly appreciate any input on this. Sparing a second to check if you ever got the promotion journal entry would be most helpful. After all not each and every journal entry listed on UESP actually appears ingame...

Did you talk to the informant in the sewers? And, explore all the dialog with that one?

I did. This is the thing: the quest is complete. It's just this final journal entry that is missing. Or maybe it's a dialogue option missing? There is a separate dialogue option for previous promotion (Blade Apprentice), choosing which gives you a journal entry and some scrolls from Caius. I wouldn't know how to add this one though (if it even exist).
