How high do you level your character(s)?

Post » Sat Jun 01, 2013 10:48 am

As everyone should know by not the latest Skyrim patch removed the level cap giving players the chance to get all the perks with one character. Due to the removal of the OI getting to level 252, the level where you will have all the perks, is no easy feat, unless you use the resto loop ofcourse, though I do know that atleast one person on these forums has managed it.

So, I just wanted to know, whats the maximum you guys will level your characters to. 50? 81? 100? 252? 500? Do you perk every tree or just the ones you use? As a mage I see no reason to perk anything outside of the magic schools(Destruction, Conjuration, Illusion, Alteration, Restoration, Enchanting), Alchemy and Speech. I did level my character to 252 though since in my mind that is the new maximum level.

Thanks to finally figuring out how to use the resto loop after 9373869182727393 attempts, all I had to do was continually level skills I use, Speech and Alchemy, from 15-100, so I avoided being called a sneak thief and that other nonesense.

I level them until they have finished what they have to do. I don't play one character that does everything in the game; it's just, pfff.

Yeah same here. Certain characters will do just about every quest, unless I'm hardcoe into a certain roleplay. Ive never taken a character past 81. IF I get bored with a character I'll start a new one. My current Breton mage is at 46. THe most I see her going is in the 60's. Maybe 70. But I think alot of determining how high I'll take them depends on how much story and quests are left that pertain to the roleplay. Right now being at level 46 I've completed the College of Winterhold main questline and halfway through Dawnguard. Thats it.

After more than 2000 hours none of my characters have ever been higher than 50. The one I played the most fully (about 200 hours) was level 35 when he finished. I recently deleted all of them, so now they are level 5 to 15 (four characters) and I doubt they will reach level 81.

83.6 is my max (my own rules)

Only the main skill is put to 1x Legendary (for example legendary 2-HD with my "Warrior")

All other skill are limited to the pre 1.9 conditions.

Current character 83.2 (all 100 + legendary 2-HD with 92)

Like Therhatran, I play my characters until I feel I have told their stories. I pay little attention to what level my characters are. To me, roleplaying isn't about leveling. Roleplaying is all about character and story.

Anyway, I'm guessing, but I think none of my characters have leveled above 55.

Shelly Mars put it well - I level my characters until their story is finished. It could be level 10, it could be level 50.

Like some of the others I really don't care what lvl my characters are, it's more important to me that they tell their own story.

That said I think my battlemage Derik, who is my longest lived and favorite character has reached lvl 47, he probably won't reach the mid 50's, his story is about done. Highest lvl I have gotten any of my characters.

The highest level ive ever got a character was level 52, and ive put in over 2000 hours into skyrim. I just find the game get really boring and ridiculously easy by that time, not to mention im usually done all the quest lines I set out to do with that character. Im not gonna take my pure mage and start putting him through the companions or thieves guild just to keep playing that character.

Plus in all the elder scrolls games, I always make like a million characters. Ive made like pretty much every combination of character you can think of (with skyrim that's not that many, actually).

Level 47 is the highest I've ever been. My current main will probably overtake it since I did a complete change of skill setup at around level 20, but generally my characters never get past 35.

Same here. Usually that means that I retire them around level 45-50. Current Imperial is level 43 and only a few quests from retirement. Current Breton might reach higher though, considering she's only in the beginning of the MQ and Companions (which she will finish), and I plan for her to do the civil war, Dawnguard and probably Dragonborn as well, and she's level 34 or something now.

They level as high as they need to go. I have yet to go beyond 81 with anyone and don't plan on it

I think it's hard enough to get any character up to level 81 from a RP point of view. Anything beyond that in my opinion is insane.

I don't have specific level goals for my characters, it's more about the story of a character.

But I have to say that I like long stories and I don't play many different characters, so they end up being rather high level.

Once they've achieved what they set out to do.

The highest I've taken a character is 56.

Same here. No idea what level my first character was when I retired her for having done everything I wanted her to do. Mid-50s, I guess.

While playing, I of course get the perks I want to use. It has yet to happen that I've got too much perk points. Currently, it's rather broadly distributed - Archery, Heavy Armour, Sneak, One-Handed, Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, Smithing, Speechcraft, Alchemy, Enchanting, and a few from other trees, as well.

I do not use Legendary, I use a mod to get my skills past 100.

100 is the highest I've gone, and the highest I'm willing to go.

Level means very little to me as a PC player regardless.

I play as long as I find it fun. 79 is the highest I've been, and I'm probably going to level him up to 81 so I can face Ebony Warrior. Not sure what happens after that. Maybe that's that, maybe I'll continue his adventures. Time shall tell.

I level them until I have their skill set where I want it, generally that means I max out whatever skills they happen to be using. With the addition of the legendary system I can now max out all their perks for the skills I have chosen for them. Needless to say, my characters tend to be fairly high in level. My current character is 53 and has about 75% of what skills/perks he needs. So I'd say he'll be "done" around 70 or so.

I ground my original PC to 81 in the pre-1.9 era (though I believe two-handed and pickpocket were in the mid 90s at that point). I've started a new PC and am currently at 72 though there's tons and tons of Dragonborn and vanilla Skyrim left to do. I don't have Dawnguard. I took advantage of the Legendary setting with this PC to reset some skills (alchemy and enchanting) which was great fun. I'd be surprised if this PC hits 100 before I finish all the things I want to do.
