Earliest house acquisition without doing quest(s)?

Post » Sun Jun 02, 2013 7:13 pm

I want to acquire a house as early in the game as possible WITHOUT having to do, or complete, even trigger any quests.

I don't need anything fantastic. Just at least a chest and a wardrobe.

I am aware of the safe containers listed in the wiki (Helgen Keep Inn, etc.). I thought about going straight to Markarth and doing the Molag Bal quest, and just using the abandoned house.

Any other suggestions?

Also, I just installed Hearthfire, but haven't used it yet.

You could always use Anise's cabin if you're ok with killing Anise (safe basemant), the Alchemist's shack east of Helgen (safe end table) or the Riverside shack south of Windhelm, if you're ok with the remains of the former owner (safe wardrobe). All these have beds as well.

I think I have read about those, but it seems that there is only ever one container.

I would like at least one chest, and a wardrobe.

I really don't mind where it is.

The goal is to not interact with, or trigger any quests.

im pretty sure theirs 1 or two safe chests in bleak falls i could be wrong though.

After all i've been known to be wrong before but then im very sure that pine watch the one located just infront of the land where you build lakeview manor is safe once you break in that is again i could be wrong though but it worked for me.

There is a complete list of safe storage containers on the wiki, but none of them offer more than an end table, or a single wardrobe.

I would just like a suggestion with the least amount of quests or interaction with NPC's to get myself a decent place.

Money is no issue. I just want to figure this out.

I am postponing all quests and world interaction until later. Just hunting and exploring for now.

Is it recommended that I start off by building my own home?

Cracked Tusk Keep - safe storage, never resets, even has forge and alchemy lab - just don't touch the piece of the Razor, and you're good.

But you have to do at least one quest to be able to buy land from the jarls.

If you're on PC, there are mods, of course.

Why do you need two containers?

I used the Alchemist Shack near Ivarstead and the end table held a tonne of stuff!
