[REQ] Healing Arrows

Post » Tue Jun 04, 2013 4:11 pm

Most of the time I play solo (no companions) but with my current high level ranged character and a plethora of mods that makes the combat harder... I have been trying to use some companions as support. I recruited two heavy melee tanks but they lose health pretty soon against dragons (deadly dragons on expert+deadly monsters+dragon combat overhaul playing at legendary) and it occurred to me it would be very cool and convenient to have "healing arrows". Probably alchemy tempered or magic imbued arrows that do heal instead of damage.

I'm roleplaying a character that relies on stealth, archery and alquemy and I would love to be able to heal my companions from afar while continue raining poison arrows over my enemies.

Is there a mod that provides this already? Or a kind modder that like the idea and make this available?

Cheers!

It wouldn't help..

Even if you enchant the arrows with restore health, being hit by an arrow is a hostile action. even if the arrow in question does no damage

you could maybe make a healing explosion arrow? you'd have to make sure not to actually hit the ally with the the arrow itself probably, unless there's some workaround to the aggression thing.

Or you could change followers so they can be hit more times before they turn on you.

They could be made magically like other magical arrows, or more simply you could make a poison with a healing effect. I'm not sure if the restore health effect can be made into a poison, but perhaps a negative value of damage health would work, I've accidentally made healing spells like that before.

Of course, the obvious downside is that your friends won't take kindly to being shot in the back. You'd need to use forgiving meatshields, so they don't just start attacking you back.

I must admit, scrolls of healing on target seem easier. Or an auto-potion thing like in ASIS (you'd need to keep your follower stocked up on potions, though).

Not if the magic effect associated with the arrows isn't flagged to be hostile.

threads like these always pop up the moment I close the CK. Don't feel like all that waiting for it to load again. It's something I'm willing to test tomorrow. But it should be possible to prevent hostile action.

even if the magic effect is not a hostile effect, the arrow and the bow itself are. even if it does 0 damage

Thank you all for the comments so far…I like what I am reading! In the name of Talos please give it a try whenever you have some spare time…it may become one of those small but greatly appreciated mods!
