It's not as much my dislike for Steam. I don;t care for the "auto update" from them, so I play in offline mode. Not that one really needs to worry about that anymore, but still. Otherwise, I think they are the pinnacle of service provider for PC gamers.
The SW is attractive to new mod users, because it is a "click and go" type of process. That is not a good way to start out. One should understand exactly what the mod is adding and/or changing to their Data folder. Therefore it is paramount for one to not only become familiar with the the use of mod managers, but also the use of user end tools, like BOSS and TES5Edit.
Also, the SW has a limit on the size of mod that can be uploaded and made available. The Nexus has no such limitation. It's only a year and a half after the initial release. The truly huge mods are just now coming to a point of release. They are nothing short of a full blown expansion and rival the sheer size and quality of Official mods that are produced and released by Bethesda. Chances are they may never see the SW.
Then... and this is the real kicker for me... You must be logged on to Steam, every time you start your game for the mods to be loaded into your game launcher.
In order to be truly loved by some, you must be utterly despised by others. I forgive you and I'm sure she does as well.
