Problem with Creation Kit

Post » Fri Jun 07, 2013 4:05 am

I'm trying to load up the Creation Kit so I can look at some values for the new alchemy ingredients in Dragonborn, and I'm running into an error. Here's what I'm doing:

1. Launch the Creation Kit from Steam.

2. File -> Data, select Dragonborn.esm, then hit OK.

3. The file starts loading, but at about 59%, I get an error. It says:

Assert

File: C:\_Skyrim\Code\TESV\TESShared\misc\BGSLocalizedString.cpp

Line:2871

LOCALIZATION: Error opening or reading strings file.

I have options to Abort, Retry, or Ignore. However, no matter what I hit, I"m told that the Creation Kit has stopped working, and the only option is to shut it down. I haven't messed with any files; all I did was download Skyrim and the Creation Kit through Steam, the try to load the Dragonborn.esm file. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing, you just need to add "Dragonborn.bsa" to your SkyrimEditor.ini (can be found in the same folder as the game exe).

[Archive][...]SResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

Do I need to add Hearthfire to that as well?

Stick it between DG and DB. Make sure you spell it as HearthFires.bsa
