does anybody else wonder what exactly Bethesda had planned for this quest? i have heard that the quest is broken and Bethesda may fix it in a patch still but i was wondering if anybody knew what exactly was supposed to happen during this quest.

The only missing 'Apprentices' I know about have to do with the College of Winterhold and are found in

You were supposed to find out what happened to around 4 missing members of the college.

One is by a Shrine to Talos with Skeevers nearby.

One is by the coast with fire all around as an attempt to set Fire Cloak (where you can also get the spell)

One is an a small ruin with a bandit right by the mine near Winterhold.

The other is also near Winterhold with some Frost Runes nearby.

That expert chest in the Arcaneum has rings that you place on that Daedric Gauntlet in the Midden.
