Are the specialty perks worth it for Destruction?

Like Paralyze, set them on fire, disintegrate.....are they worth taking? I'm going to be doing a frost battlemage. Is destruction even worth taking?

They are. Intense Flames is the svckiest of the bunch but it's come in handy. The others are fab. Disintegrate is especially good because it effectively makes all enemies have ~15% less health. Sometimes the ash piles are screwy though.

I'm by no means a destruction person but I would think that the paralyze and disintegrate perks would be good for a battlemage that uses cloak spells.

I can't see where the fire perk that makes them run away would be worth while.

Thanks. I'm doing pure frost anyways. Awesome.

Yes, although fire gets the worst secondary ablity, it has the most base damage because it also stacks with aspect of terror in the illusion tree.

Although not if you're using the unofficial patch. It is more magicka efficient though, if you're not going for 100% reduction.

I play on consoles. So I can't use unofficial patches or mods.

From my experience, the viability of destruction magic is really dependent upon your game's difficulty level. If you're playing at a really high difficulty level, destruction is rather weak and those perks are better spent elsewhere. But, now that there's no level cap, you pretty much have an unlimited amount of perks and can put them wherever you want I guess.
