Shield holding is wrong

Post » Sat Jun 08, 2013 7:03 am

Does anyone realize the way Skyrim characters holding their shields is wrong?

Large shield should be hold in arm.

Skyrim characters hcould break their wrist holding shield like they are now when parrying attacks or bash. It is because the shield design is wrong, only have one holder, not two that is for arm and wrist. Only small targe have one holder and the way to hold and use it is like punching

The holding shield posture is not beautiful because of it, compare with other games or medieval movies

Only targe we can bash fast in punching like because it is small and the way to hold it strongly is in punching way

But large shield need an arm to parry and bash, because it is heavy, and need our body to move forward to bash, body and legs to parry attacks

Skyrim shield is wrongly design and application, Skyrim warriors could loose their hand using such shield

Yep, thought i was the only one who noticed this. But it's just a game so...meh, just a little oversight.

Maybe you could make a thread "My gripes with Skyrim" and put everything in it?

As for shields, well, the more realistic poses and animations the better. But it's hardly a game-breaking problem. Maybe Bethesda will pay more attention to it in the next game, but I doubt it.

More trolling, just great! Goodbye.

I'm going to let a moderator sort this out.

It's known fact that games are making shields usually like this even it isn't so in real world. I have never seen game which makes it as it is in real world and that doesn't bother me because you don't notice it often in combat.
