Fallout 3 GOTY Steam - GFWL missing?

Hey Vault Dwellers,

I recently installed Fallout 3 GOTY from my steam library, and after following the guide to get it working on Windows 7 (change the thread count in the ini file), the game seems to run just fine.

BUT, Games for Windows Live is missing! I click on the title screen button, nothing. I press the Home key, nothing.

It's super frustrating because it works flawlessly in Dark Souls.

Considering I've already gone through the game once, and I'm really only revisiting it for DLC and achievements, making GFWL work is actually kind of a big deal for me in this case.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I could play without it, I just don't want to.

Cheers!

Have you tried downloading and installing GFWL from Microsoft? I suspect the connections still exist in the game, you probably just need the client. Steam may not have included it since that's something people can download on their own and isn't really necessary in order to play the game. I'm not sure why you would want it frankly. Other than being a venue for Bethesda to sell the DLCs, which you already have, it didn't serve any real purpose in the game.
