What mod could make items not marked as "steal"

Post » Sun Jun 09, 2013 6:25 pm

Hi,

I've got this problem where Items that should be marked as "steal" aren't, and just have "take" instead. It's been like this for the last few saves I have done but, my current save as a thief is getting pretty boring as nobody minds if I steal there entire stores inventory right in front of them. Most of the expensive items are still marked as "steal" (Swords and shields) but items such as alchemy ingredients and food aren't any more.

Could one of my installed mods be causing this problem? or is it a bug/ glitch, I've tried googlling it but I can only find people looking to get rid of the "steal" tag on items.

I've looked at the mod pages but nobody else has posted as having encountered this problem on any of the mods that I have installed.
Here is a collection of all the mods I have installed. Sorry I can't post a proper link.

Also what is the best way to test to see if one of these mods is causing this problem? Just un-install it

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

I thought this same thing when I first played Skyrim, apparently it is because the owner of those items lets you take up to a certain value due to your relationship with them or something. So it's actually supposed to be like that. I'm not aware of any mods that change the system.

Oh, I guess that makes sense. I must be paying more attention to items laying around houses with my thief  , as in my warrior and mage saves I put in a combined 304 hours of game play and never noticed all the free items NPC would have given me, my mage would have had a field day going around getting free ingredients at all the shops, if I had known earlier.

Thanks for letting me know.

No problem, I still think it's a silly feature myself :P I mean, who just lets people take stuff from their home/store?
