Problem with key

Post » Tue Jun 11, 2013 8:32 pm

Hi, I sent this to Steam support, but they didn't answer yet, so I thought that I could open this topic here too, because it's about Skyrim. Hope that someone can help me. First, sorry for my english, it's not my language. I'm from Czech Republic, I live in Sweden and about a week ago I was on the Czech market and bought the original game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I tried it out and everything went well until it came to enter the key via Steam. I entered the original key, in the form XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX and Steam showed this table: "Sorry, but the following items are not available for purchase in this country. Your purchase has been canceled." I don't know what to do, because the game wasn't the cheapest and I really want to play it. Thank you for your efforts and assistance with, regards Arvven.

If they cancelled the sale they should have refunded your money - check your bank/credit card statements to make sure you got a credit for the purchase.

Unfortunately, Steam is regionally blocked from digital sales in the Czech Republic, so there's probably nothing you can do short of purchasing a retail (disc) copy of Skyrim.

You will have to take this up with Steam. Perhaps they can remove the region lock, as you bought the game in the Czech Republic, but are trying to play it in another country.

Unless you can convince Steam that your PC is in fact in the Czech Republic.

But I do not want to buy the game through Steam, I have the original CD in the box, I just need to verify its key via Steam so I could play. I think that language of the game has nothing to do with it. But thank you for your opinion.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to wait for an answer of Steam, I hope they will answer soon, thanks for the advice.

I misunderstood your post. Sorry about that. You're going to have to deal with Steam to solve this problem. Best of luck to you.
