Does ESO on Consoles mean the end for TES Series

Post » Wed Jun 12, 2013 2:45 am

In my opinion i think this is the end of the single player rpg games in the TES series, games like morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim, probably wont exist because they will just do what blizzard is doing and support it for a long time because it is a MMO. Oh and FYI this was made by Bethesda Softworks, makes you kind of question if there doing Fallout 4.

:slap:

Zenimax Online Studios is making it.

Bethesda Game Studios is not.

Bethesda Softworks is the publishing apparatus of the Zenimax group, and is not a developer studio.

How many times must these facts be established, people?

Unless they go for a 'freemium' model from the start, I think the reception will be underwhelming; the traditional market for subscription based MMO is shrinking and it doesn't help to be another more or less bland WoW clone to begin.

Wrong company..Bethesda is just slapping their name on this project and isn't making it so they can focus on the single player games

Nope. ESO will be lucky to break even on production costs. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim made money hand over fist.

I have a feeling this subject will keep coming up until the day when Elder Scrolls Online goes free-to-play from lack of subscribers.

Yes, the single player TES is now gone and The Witcher is the new TES.
