How is that the same thing?

You're complaining about bugs in a game from the 90s, and using that as an argument for consoles when you wouldn't even be able to play that game in the first place on a console. I'd also like to add that most 'bugs' are user or developer created and have nothing to do with the platform you play on. You cant use your problems with the games against the PC unless EVERYONE on newer PCs were having the same problems. As I have never had any of those problems, your argument fails.

I will not be playing Fallout on consoles.

I'm pretty underwhelmed by the new consoles thus far. I will not be getting an XBO, though I may get a PS4 eventually, probably more to stream media than anything else.

None of the games announced at E3 are anything I'm particularly interested in either.

You didn't see my edit did you?

Your initial point doesn't stand up you're literally bringing no argument forward.

Also I had a bug where the guy in the hall of congress in fallout 2 just vanished so I couldn't go in and speak to tandi's assistant or tandi herself.

I didn't see it. Can you play PS2 games? Will you still be able to play those games on PS4?

1 yes either buy paying for them on psn or on an original ps3.

2 Don't know that hasn't been info hasn't been released although with Gikia (spelling) i'd take a stab at yes.

Well, I've played all the Fallout games, both on an Win98SE and XP systems, or even on Linux/Wine. I've never had any problems with them and they are surprisingly stable, considering how bad some of the old games run on XP. I can't even fathom why you are having these particular problems.

But considering this game's age and translating this into console terms, can you play Xbox games on the XBone? Nope. But the PC can run this game just fine (at least for me).

Fine, but the bugs you are experiencing are still not directly related to PCs themselves.

What we need is a better [censored] OS to run all our stuff on!

No, those bugs you mention are most likely related to resolution and desktop color settings. What I'm saying is that because of all the other things you can do with PCs, its easier to mess something up through normal every day use. Consoles have just a few features and aren't as configurable so there is really no way to mess them up besides physically.

Windows 8 is a brand new OS and still has bugs. If you were to play the games on Win7 or lower you probably wouldn't have them.

So how is my problems nothing to do with my pc?

User created problems aren't a fault of the platform. OS created problems aren't either.

It actually is like brand new. AFAIK there aren't any service packs yet so its still in the first stage release.

PC! I won't ever buy a console. Not that I have anything against them - they're just not for me. Plus, I like upgrading my PC now and then with the latest hardware. Goes hand in hand with the PC gaming hobby. I also like trying different mods.

Well, that's your culprit right there. Win8 is terrible at running old games. But it's Micro-flaccids fault, not one of the PC architecture in general. Also, it's not impossible, since I know of at least 3 people who can run this game on Win8 just fine. Really, the PC does require a tiny bit more technical knowledge then consoles, but the payoff is worth it. Wait, even that is not 100% true as I've learned how to use a soldering iron out of the necessity to fix my NES way back when I was little.

I mean that games for the first Xbox won't run on the latest one. I really hate this stupid name. It's simply Xbox3 or XBone for me, otherwise it's just too easy to mix it up with Xbox1.

1 Isn't every problem user created if there is no user there is no problem, but anyway

How do you know it's user created?

2 no if something is still not working properly what a year and a half into it's release then that isn't permissible.

Hopefully they'll fix the compatibility problems with 8.1

1. Eh, well that's true but that doesn't mean the user always creates the problem. I thought maybe it was because I didn't know what OS you had. Most of the time problems people have with computers are their own fault. The proof is in the vast number of other users that don't have the same problem. Now that I know you have Windows 8, its most likely the OS.

2. Of course not, which is why I'm not defending Microsoft. In tech terms though, its still like new.

You know Windows =/= PC right?

We don't really allow "vs" threads on here - especially if we're pitting consoles against each other. Not to mention this is only tangentially connected to Fallout.
