Recently I was reading a debate between others about why Skyrim was better than both F3 and FNV. It included a user poll, and one of the categories that Skyrim won in a landslide was "better map". Now I concede the fact that Skyrim has a larger and prettier map, but that is all down to the new ultra-powerful engine. But there was something that nobody brought up (not even the defenders of Fallout). Fallout has by far the more memorable locations! In skyrim there were 5 large walled cities, and I cant even remember their names anymore. The things you found exploring were castles, draugr tombs, draugr tombs, and more draugr tombs. But for me Fallout had an amazing combination of areas that make its (dated) map superior.
- Megaton
- Rivet City
- The Pentagon
- New Vegas
- Every single Vault
- Nipton
- Little Lamplight
- D.C Metro
- The Divide
- Big Mountain
I could go on and on, but for me that concludes that even with its technological limits Fallout maps are king.
( If I missed a city/location that you found memorable please tell me)
