Elves vs. Nords (Thalmor, Talos, Ysgramor)

Post » Fri Jun 14, 2013 7:07 am

Many people have been debating about this subject, including myself.

What is your stance on what the Thalmor is doing? is it right in your eyes? or is it wrong?

This a Thread where you can discuss on the Thalmor's actions and on the conflict between Nords and elves and where you stand.

Well the person I blame the most for this nonsense is tiber spetim you don't ransack a race of elves with a giant robot of destruction and expect them to forget it lets not forget they are highly magical and long lived. So most of the elves from back then might still be alive even now.

There is no wrong person in this it simply comes down to ideal's and grudges made by a man who is laughing his ass of with godhood and trampled over everyone to get it.

So now the subjugated altmer and the nords/empire/extra have to deal with the crap tiber created.

Nords think the Thalmor are wrong and evil. Imperials think the same thing, but have a feel of having to play nice with them.

I do not like them, but the Elves have a right to do what they do in their mind.

Let's be honest, the Nords of the Stormcloak rebellion got svckered into weakening the Empire, and humanity as a whole, the degree of which depends on how long the CW goes on.

The Elder Council is ruled by the Thalmor, so I don't think it's all on the Nords.

I never said it was all on the Nords, but that they fell for the oldest trick in the book. Use something that people care about a lot and distract them with it.

They're literally being tortured and killed, dude. And the Empire is protecting the Thalmor. What do you expect?

Because the Thalmor want them to rebel from the Empire, to cause discord among the human races, which makes it easier to defeat them.

again, never said they deserved what is happening to them. ALL I said was that they Thalmor used Talos worship to their benefit and the Nords fell for the plot, like poohbear to honey.

As an Altmeri enthusiast, I hope that the Thalmor is removed from power and replaced by individuals that are more level-headed. Igniting wars and making enemies across all 4 corners of Tamriel (and possibly beyond) is not the best way to ensure the future and stability of the Aldmeri Dominion.

Considering that the THALMOR want to unmake the world, I doubt they want to make friends right now.

I suspect Ulfric's motives are a little less clear cut than that, I think he feels at least some responsibility for the White-Gold Concordat, as he was led to believe that his information was directly responsible for the Imperial City's fall as outlined in the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/thalmor-dossier-ulfric-stormcloak, had the IC not fallen then the treaty likely would not have been agreed to. It may be that this sense of responsibility built up inside Ulfric as he felt he had betrayed his people and his gods, ultimately leading to the Stormcloak Rebellion.

That was part of the same plot the Civil War is a part of. The plot to drive a wedge between the human races to destroy the empire and make it easier to fight them.
