Skingrad's castle looks coolest from the outside, way up on that hill. But inside, it's rather small and undramatic.

I've always loved Bruma's castle on the inside, but really I'm torn between Bruma, Chorrol, and Cheydinhal. They're all cavernous, majestic, and with lots of areas to explore (if I'm tresspassing, lol).

Strongest castle in battle? Probably Skingrad. Would be pretty tough to get a siege on it, the enemies would have to cross that bridge somehow while managing to stay on the bridge.

Bring in one catapult and that castle's off the map.

Leyawiin for its secrets as the coolest, ( it may be my small / tiny knowledge of welsh, but I really wan't to spell it LLeyawiin ?
and pronounce it clahy-ayawiin).

Anvil since getting any siege engines to it is impractical due to it being coastal power, and since there are few trees around making any is also moot.
As its also on a cliff in the middle of the sea, making new tunnels are impossible, but those already there are a weakness, but my veiw is they would be under water if not for the ease of gameplay.

There is a gigantor hill near Anvil though. I'd put my crack mortar catapult team on top of that hill. Then I could shell the town over the walls. I'm going with Skingrad.

the anvil castle has one small weakness, there's an underground passage that soldiers can sneak into all you gotta do is break down the door.

There is already a very similar topic called "what is the strongest city" that includes a discussion about what city would do bestin the case of an invasion. Now I thought this was which of the counties in cyrodiil has the coolest castle, id say leyawiin is the most surprising if you explore all of it.....

Personally I think Battlehorn Castle is the coolest once fully upgraded. It has some nice decorations, plenty of cool secret chambers, and it's pretty defenceable with the Knights of the Horn and the gate that opens and closes.

True, so I′m only gonna answer the castle question. Skingrad castle is cool on the outside, but I prefer the Bruma castle interior

Last time I checked DLC isn't part of Vanilla Oblivion.

I like the castle in Cheydinhal. I love all the trees surrounding it and just the feel of the whole place.

Coolest? Skingrad's. Why? Wine Cellar... if you catch my drift...

Throughout this list the term "Vanilla Oblivion" is used frequently, or simply "vanilla". Vanilla Oblivion is Oblivion without the addition of mods.

That's from betteroblivion.com

Most use 'vanilla' as the term to describe the game without modifications. DLC's are not modifications they are add-ons.

Some say vanilla means without mods or add-ons, I don't. Apparently neither does Sesame. ;)

I really like Cheydinhal's, Skingrad's and Leyawin's. I am thinking that Bruma's might be pretty hard to destroy.
