Skyrim version of Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul?

Post » Sun Jun 16, 2013 9:55 pm

I've held off on playing Skyrim to give the modders time to do their magic. When I played Oblivion, one of the popular overhaul mods was Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul. One of the major changes that overhaul implemented was to get rid of default game design feature that automatically increased the difficulty of mobs you fought to whatever your current level was. In OOO, the level/difficulty of each mob you fought was preset by OOO.

Can anyone tell me which Skyrim overhauls are similar in scope as OOO?

Thanks in advance

The closer to OOO is SkyRe . It doesn't delevel enemies , but rebalances the game changing the perk system , magic , racial powers , etc. Give it a try and you won't regret it !

There isn't really an OOO equivalent for Skyrim. As mentioned, the closest would be http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9286/? for rebalancing and overhauling game systems. Contrary to OOO, however, it doesn't hand place new items or integrate new enemy factions and stories into the world. In my opinion, that used to be OOO's most interesting feature, though Skyrim arguably needs it less than Oblivion did.

Requiem, is the closest at least in my opinion. All Skyre is at it's core is a modular overhaul of perks and things like that, more similar to Frans, than to OOO. Requiem is more monolithic and changes more balance than SkyRe. Makes it basically a completely different game.

SkyRe doesn't de-level enemies but it does come with an option to alter minimum levels for variouz zones and locations.
