Is copying warpaints that hard?

Hello all - I'm just getting back into modding in a very casual way, and like many others I'm asking this question hoping that the answer is not what I believe it is:

On any given Race's menu, scrolling to the right through the tabs brings you to Tinting - (this is NOT the Gen Parts tab on an Actor's menu) - where you can add a new warpaint texture and set its color/fade value. I realize this is not the technical terminology, but it's late and I'm tired of trying to find a way around this so please bear with me. :-)

To get a given warpaint from one race to another (let's say MaleHeadForswornTattoo_01.dds, from Breton to Nord), it appears that the only way is to extract the texture (.dds) file from the textures .BSA, go into the target race's menu, import it manually, and finally set whatever ColorForm options you want for it. Considering that each regular warpaint/tattoo option has 24 unique color presets, if you wanted to just share all vanilla warpaints between all races you'd have to manually import each one to each race that needs it and then go back and set all 24 standard color presets for EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.??

If you had only ten warpaints, and only used the eight humanoid races, that's (10X8)X24= 1,920 settings.....

Please tell me there is a faster way to copy/paste the vanilla warpaint data to whatever races I want! Pretty please? :-)

Notes:

1. There is a Copy Data button you can use, but as far as I can tell it copies all data on the Tinting tab, making any race you Paste the data to use the skin tone and all other tinting data for the original race. Not good, and really, kinda pointless...unless you can limit what data is being copied, which would be sweet.

2. Yes, I am aware that you don't have to set all 24 color presets if you don't want to, but having at minimum the vanilla options for future characters would be nice. Having one extra tattoo that can only be one shade of one color is just not an option.
