PS3 Neglected?

Post » Tue Apr 13, 2010 2:00 am

So apparently there's suppose to be a new big patch coming out soon, however so far it seems to only address the 360 and PC users. Granted they're complaining a lot more on their forums, but did patch 1.01 actually do anything for you guys? It still seems like a lot of the popular bugs weren't addressed at all.

I'm not sure where you got that from? This is what the Community Manager said a few days ago.
We’re currently running final testing and certification on a comprehensive patch for all three platforms (PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), so we’ll have something available in the coming weeks.

Well of course they're going to say that. But when talking about specific problems it would fix, they included 360's save game issue, and PC's NIVIDIA hardware issue, save issue, and other companion issues, nothing for PS3. Personally I've had no problems with patch 1.01, but it hasn't seemed to fix anything either. But from what I've heard, 1.01 has apparently caused more issues for the ps3 version.

So what specific PS3 issues (that aren't general game issues that all 3 platforms suffer from) should they have mentioned?

Yep, we're screwed worse than FO3. Why these geniuses neglected to include console commands is beyond me.

How is the lack of console commands worse FO3? FO3 didn't include the console commands either.

Not to mention this is a common practise in the industry. The PS3/360 versions of Assassin's Creed II or Batman: Arkham Asylum (and lots of other games) didn't include any console commands either, yet on the PC they do.

I would love to hear that the're working on the NCR hostility bug, crashes upon entering The Strip etc. Basicly the game breaking ones.

Just a little release from them acknowledging that they're aware of these bugs and working on them would let people know they're listening.

Of course the patch is going to take time, but I would be happier knowing that the patch targets the issues I've been facing.

all I know is -

Before the 1.01 patch I was at least able to play the game for
about 4 hours before it crashed..

After the patch I can't play for 30 minutes without it hard locking my PS3 every time...

PS3 120gb (bought 3 months ago).

Are the issues more or less the same on all platforms? I know a few of them are, but I've only played the PS3 version myself.

The big ones for me are the stuttering, crashing and framerate slowdown. In that order. To be honest I can live with the little clipping bugs and all that, I'd rather they were fixed too but they're not game breaking.

How about the chronic freezing, hitching and low framerate issues for starters? Those are not minor "glitches", they should be addressed.

This is all from the top of my head, but one of my biggest complaints is that whenever I go into a casino and they have my weapons removed, my companion gets their default weapon removed as well, and you're unable to give it back to them. Some other ones I have noticed are:

*sometimes companions wont regenerate health after receiving damage.
*the weathered 10mm pistol bug(modding)
*a black screen upon entering some areas
*apparently some other people have been having factions attack them for no reason even if they're not wearing opposing faction armor and have a high approval from them.

I understand that this a huge game, and that catching a fixing a lot these is hard work especially when dealing with 3 different consoles. However I also feel that you left the beta testing entirely to the paying customers, and that a lot of these bugs could have been caught and solved from the get go through a few test runs by the developers.

Yes, they are. I have yet to see any specific PS3 issue being mentioned in this thread.

i think it's just a perception that PS3 issues are not being fixed because in the post that GStaff posted, it talks about specific PC and Xbox360 fixes but no specific fixes for the PS3. All the fixes are just lumped into the "all 3 platforms".

Basically bottom line is they need to fix it, its there job I will never buy another game by them and would have never spent 60 dollars on this game with this many problems it's horrible. They should never have released a product with this many problems i am very disappointed I am having all the same problems freezing, 10mm mod bug, lost companions, lost weapons, poor frame-rate, scripting issues, being able to enter the NCR prison through the fence, being stuck in place, Super mutants not getting damage from my shooting them, reputation and faction issues, and the list goes on I am sickened by this................Peace

Hey, guys. If you would look at the date of what GStaff said about the comprehensive update, it's well after the 1.01 patch. This patch that just got released for PC (1.1.1 I believe) is the start of this new comprehensive patch. I'm not surprised that they're starting with the PC, and I'm sure the 1.1.1 update is coming to PS3 as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as dissatisfied as anyone else with the game's bugs (currently my game freezes if I so much as look at Gomorrah, so I can't finish the story), but I'm willing to see what they offer before I pass final judgment.

Just follow GStaff and look at his latest posts for info. Do that, and we should expect a new and "comprehensive" patch on the PS3 soon.

The updates that we're released in the initial update PS3 were covering similar issues being experienced on PC and 360 covered. As noted, we are working on new updates for all three platforms. Stay tuned.

The thing I don't understand is that these freezing issues are nothing new for the Fallout or ES games. Why are they still occurring?

You don't have to look here, look in the PS3 sub-forum - you know that entire section devoted to the one console? I think its called playstation, probably never heard of it.

Theres no deflecting the issue here, we were all here when PS3 FO3 had issues.
