Post » Wed Jun 19, 2013 10:00 am

I had this on 360 since launch, just got a PC that can play it, and am doing what every console player would do

. . .Mod the crap out of it :D

now what I need from you the community is a list of mods that I should grab, that you feel are a must have, big and small. im also looking for a few in particular if you could point me the right way.

skin texture mods

hair mods

badass weapons and armor

environment mods (tress in whiterun, weather, etc.)

lighting

any other misc. mods you think are good (arrows closer to back, longer quivers, etc, etc, etc.)

thanks for all your help, happy to be a member of the PC family ^_^ -Law

Just a sample, others will have more extensive lists:

By bad a** weapons mods do you mean great damage or just good looking? I have "Longclaw", it's a mod for a bad a** sword that is really OP at low level so I've had to hang it up till my character is worthy of it.

To make Daedric weapons truly worthy of their rep I got "Daedric artifacts improved"

For just a bad a** LOOKING steel sword I got "Skyforge Weapons" This mod makes skyforge weapons POP! They are beautiful!

"Improved Orcish Armor"

"Improved Ebony Armor"

"Frostfall/Hypothermia and Camping" for realistic weather effects, making tents, capes and backpacks which allow you to carry 50lbs more.

"Improved Interior Lighting" for one.

"Alpha Horses" Makes your valued steeds essential.

"Horse Armors" Self explanatory.

Welcome to the PC. :icecream:

Im not a big fan of mods, but i always find blood mods to be essential. Try Enhanced Blood Textures or Crimson Tide on nexus.

Thanks for all the interesting info guys, I also am soon to be interested in modding. My PC is not the best for even running the game, let alone mods, but I will be trying the Legendary version out on my dinosaur in a few weeks and would also like to try some mods out. My technical aptitude is not great, so I need to learn how to use mods before eventually getting a new PC.

I did have a question, being keen on exploring I wanted a map (paper map is fine) that could actually show where I have already been, the one in the vanilla game only shows a small area and is extremely unreliable if you are trying to explore all of Skyrim. Did any of those map improvement mods include a feature like that?

You mean like a character that doesnt use potions or magic? http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35219/? or http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=11060&searchtext= but not both.
