Design theory question

When laying out an area that has been long abandoned and empty, someplace that no one has entered in decades until you opened it what do you do about the lighting and clutter? In theory it should be completely dark with no toirches or candles but that doesn't look right. Is there a way to have torches and candles that are unlit until you go and light each one? Or do you just place some convenient lights and not think about who could have put them there?

Another question about lighting templates. Can you have different areas of a cell use different templates? Could you tell me how?

If the structure is above ground, then windows or cracks in the walls can let in light. You can also have phosphorescence plants that glow. Quartz veins can bring light in from the surface.

1. It's really up to you. In the vanilla game there's countless dungeons that are meant to be abandoned but with torches everywhere. But yes, I'm pretty sure I remember seeing unlit torch sconces in the vanilla game somewhere

2. Yes. Again I'm not sure of the details, but I think it has something to do with roombounds
