Megaton armory key mystery

Post » Tue Apr 13, 2010 9:08 am

Noticed last night while passing the armory that it was locked as usual but I had the option to Use Key... so I did. Baaad idea. Every NPC in Megaton woke up and attached me. I couldn't go back in without this mob trying to kill me. I hate restoring a save because of a bad player choice but this was just too stupid. I didn't take anything. I just opened the door and turned around. Question is... Where did I get the key in the 1st place?

I believe only Sheriff (and mayor, too, when the need arises) Lucas Simms carries the Armory key, so you either killed him or Mr. Burke did and then you looted it from his corpse.

There is also a door in the bridge tower of Rivet City, that if you even so much as look at (put your cross hair on it), the entire ship goes hostile on you. :stare:

I went through that. Put me in the Market. At first everyone kinda just stands over you so I knew they were gunning for me, I managed to get to the door out of the market just in time before either they or Charon lost it. He killed the gaurd on the way out, he actually shot first so I don't know what that was all about. However, when I go back to the market now I have Danvers and a guard following me around, it's weird, I so much as look at something that has red text and they open fire. I'm on my bestestist behaviour everytime I need to go there now, so annoying. :banghead:

Once I'm done with all the quests and stuff there everyone in the whole place is going down. Starting with Danvers. I wanted to kill her even before this :stare: :flamethrower: She's up there for my most hated character.

I should've cooked Megaton when I had the chance but I thought I'd get one playthru with good karma 1st. I consider these things a bit of a gameplay bug personally. In OB you'd get killed for stealing an apple and in FO3 you get murdered for even 'looking' at someone's stuff?

What did they attach you to?

On topic: As others have said, you must have looted it off the sherrif.
