Can I Run Skyrim?

Post » Thu Jun 20, 2013 3:41 pm

I really want to play Skyrim. Been a ES fan ever since Daggerfall. When Oblivion came out, my PC did not meet the reqs but I made the game work by sliding back on some of the graphics options. It would seem I'm facing the same problem with Skyrim. I meet most of the reqs, but fail at the processor. What do you guys think, can I make it work on lower graphics or is this a no-go?
System Requirements
Minimum:
OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor
Memory: 2GB System RAM
Hard Disk Space: 6GB free HDD Space
Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
Here's my rig:
OS: Win Xp 32 bit
Processor: Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 3GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: Plenty
Video Card: GeForce 8500 GT with 512 MB of RAM

Thoughts?
