Did I just see...?

Post » Fri Jun 21, 2013 11:43 pm

Everytime I get really engrossed in a video game something happens that isn't possible, I can't explain and I can't replicate. It gets to the point where I start to doubt it ever happened but I know with every fiber of my being it did. Now I'm obviously off my rocker, but to what degree still has yet to be seen. Anyway I have compiled a list here of some of the weird [censored] I've seen in Skyrim that none of my other friends have seen and, I'd like to see what other... oddities you all have seen.

And when I say oddities, I do not mean glitches, like Skjor sowing back up in Whiterun or anything like that.

Some ghost on a ghost horse that didn't have a head....

Outside Rorikstead, at the dragon mound I saw Alduin raising one from the dead like at Kynesgrove...

Shortly after escaping Helgen, Hadvar and I ran into Elenwen, heading down the road in the direction of Falkreath...

That ghost is a common sight. Many say it's Ragnar the Red, but I don't think so.

That happens at some dragon mounds after Kynesgrove.

She and Tullius both walk back. If you're lucky, maybe you'll find him too.

Skjor coming back is a glitch

Headless Horseman is an Easter egg

Guessing the last one is a glitch as well.

Headless horseman tripped me out when I saw it first but then I quickly jumped on the elder scrolls wiki and destroyed my wonder and awe. Imagine if this game existed before the internet? I think it would be more intriguing to be honest.

I have seen those you mentioned but have you ever seen (and heard) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7Znp3PpW9o?

(Ps. if anyone else have seen it and have got better video of it than I'm able to get with this old laptop please post it to me. I would like to see and hear it again. Sadly I haven't seen it in 16 months.)

Spoiler
There are only a total of 4 resurrections that you can witness, Sahloknir at Kynesgrove (the first, during A Blade in the Dark), Vuljotnaak NE of Sunderstone Gorge and SW of Sleeping Tree Camp (the second, during Diplomatic Immunity, when Delphene sends you to Solitude), Nahagliiv at Rorikstead (third, during Alduin's Wall while escorting Delphene and Esbern to Sky Haven Temple) and Viinturuth (fourth, east of Lake Yorgrim, during Elder Knowledge) If you walk, you'll see them all. Although Nahagliiv does force you to make a rather significant detour, I just RP that my character feels that she absolutly must get to Rorikstead ASAP (as she got the same feeling when getting close to Kynesgrove and Vuljotnaak's burial mound, and has begun to do the math) after Delphene meets with Esbern. Plus Esbern will say 'So. You really are Dragonborn' (in more of an astonished tone)

Umm elk make that noise in the wild. IRL. I've heard it before. It's not some weird glitch it's what sound they actually make.

Easter egg to the headless horseman.

Game mechanic, there are a few of these that you can witness.

They walk out of Helgan.

Those are all in the game so don't worry. It's not you.

Yes but it's extremely rare happening when they stare at you and scream like that. I have played this game since release and heard it only once. I wish it to be more common.

Only once for me as well. I also heard several wolves howl at the same time, and the audio mixed in such a way that it actually made me jump. It sounded more like a howling woman than wolves.

You're not crazy, you were just at the right places at the right time. I've never seen any dragon being reanimated aside from the MQ and I have never seen the dirty Thalmor and Tulius walking away from Helgen, so I consider you a bit lucky.

I've met Elenwen a few times, taking a stroll.

I don't know whether she's supposed to do that or not. Perhaps she is, because I can ask her who she is and she says that she's Elenwen, Thalmor ambassador in Skyrim. So I don't think it's incidental that we can meet her prior to a certain quest.

If so, she's a bit cool I think. She dares to travel alone in a country where most people would want to attack her on sight. And she's nice when you talk to her.
