no fast travel, no crafting, time for realism

Post » Sat Jun 22, 2013 8:23 pm

this is hard. i'm fond of fast travelling, but now that i have all the DLC's, i'd like to try a playthrough without fast travelling...walking everywhere, etc.

decided to cut enchanting and smithing too...except if they level naturally...leads to being too overpowered.

just filling everyone in.

You'll enjoy it, I've been playing this way for little over a year now and I find it adds a little something, something to the game IMO. Not to mention the random encounters you'll have as you walk to your destination

Crafting isn't OP if you don't make it OP.

Personally, I would stick with Smithing, if your character is a warrior type. You'll become strong yes, but not really too overpowering. And if you do feel like you're a little too strong, just bump the difficulty up a notch. That's what I do. Also, I would get a horse if you're going to be traveling, it can get fairly tedious when you need to go between cities often. With patch 1.5 you can use weapon on horseback, so there isn't a need to dismount to fight most enemies, and the horse is fast enough while sprinting to escape anything, except dragons I assume.

No fast travel, no music, no HUD, no crosshair. Expert or above.

Not really. I'd like to see you survive against ancient dragons without it.

Your HP will be reduced to near 0 with just one Fire Breath.

I love not fast travelling. Makes the game seem huge. I use mods that also make me eat, drink, and sleep. It's a lot of fun but it can be a bit tedious at times.
