Server "playability" inconsistency

I've been playing C2MP for a few months now and am approaching rank 40. My schedule doesn't permit constant or even daily play. My skills are merely average, but I do have fun. What I'm noticing, however, is that my skills seem to vary depending on the server mod.

I play Instant Team Action servers. I use Aim Enhance upgrade 3 most of the time, yet I find that my kill rate on servers with the Standard mod is usually significantly lower than when I play Classic servers.

My aim in particular seems much less accurate (on standard, many times but not all). Are the standard servers set up to be more difficult? I have wondered if the standard servers are more appealing to players who use hacks. I'm not referring to the 'extreme' hacks that are out there, but aimbots that effect my aim or improve theirs.

I'm not looking for excuses for my skills deficit, but the statistics don't lie. I can leave a standard server where my kill rate is 3 or 4 and go to a classic server and my kill rate jumps to 8, 10, 11. This is not always, but enough to prompt this post. Am I crazy? :)
