I am about to start Skyrim on the PC for the first time. I am very excited. I read somewhere that installing the patch is a good thing to do for bugs and all that.

How do I do it? I know it is a noob question but I am new to PC gaming. Long time console player, and now I am looking forward to playing Skyrim on the PC with mods (once I read more about it first).

Also, do you guys have any other suggestions for things to do before I start my game?

The update is automatically installed via Steam. U shouldn't have to do anything.

To find out if the update has been installed or not, first start your game. Then, during gameplay, press "esc" In the lower left should be a grey number.

It should read "1.9.32.0.8" if your game is properly updated.

Then you can actually go to: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1458969-relzwipz-unofficial-skyrim-patch-thread-32/

and download the latest unofficial patch for PC users only over the 1.9.32.0.8 patch.
