I really want to play this game, but...

Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time and I've been thinking about playing it for a while this Summer but I just heard about the "Glitch of Doom" which really started to make me paranoid and afraid that once I get really far into the game, "it" will happen and ruin all the fun. I have Oblivion on the PS3 and Xbox 360. I could get the PC version but I only have a macbook air. I'm not sure what to do......

Not sure what that is. Are you talking about the A bomb? I have never experienced that myself, although I don't have more than about 300 hours on any particular character.

You know, in all the years I've had this game, I've never hit this problem.

And now I play dead is dead I likely never will.

I say play the game, have fun. And if you hit the 300 hour mark and the A bomb goes off, start again playing in a different style.

If you get the game from steam, all the patches should be included, so it shouldn't come up. If you're playing on another platform, the patches should be available. [I think; I don't use either of the consoles.]

So does the A bomb only mess with the one character with 300 hours only? Or does it affect all of the other saves?

From what I know about the a bomb, and I only know what I have read about it, it only affects the save that has gone beyond the "expiration date." It should not affect any saves of other characters or even prior saves of that character, at least up to the point when the a bomb kicks in again.

Called the Animation bug, or "ABomb" by some, it's a bug that effects all secondary animations, like doors, magic spells, fire, even butterflies etc.

It all gets "frozen", or animates EXTREMELY slowly. it can pretty much end your game.

That's what it looks like:
