Elves and Bugs

Is their any lore text that refers to any known connection between elf culture and insects? It may seem like an odd question, but I just realized that, for whatever reason, many elven cultures seem to deeply involve insects. In Morrowind, the Dunmer rode around on giant insects with their nerves flailing around. In Alinor, the architecture is sometimes described as having the appearance of being made of giant colorful insect wings. The Falmer are using giant poison-spitting centipedes as cattle. The Dwemer even seemed to have some sort of admiration for scarabs.

Quite an odd pattern if you ask me. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Scarabs represent Lorkhan. Scarabs are a bug.

Lets just take it from there. This is speculation on my part and I think it is unwilling coincidence that it applies.

Dunmer use bugs as their means of agency in the world. This is their tribute to Lorkhan. They use him to better themselves.

Falmer use bugs as their means of sustenance and guidance. For they have fallen to the followers of Lorkhan and were tricked by those who thought to enslave his power. They cling to their enemy as to usurp his power.

Altmer build out of insect wings in order to defy Lorkhan. Mere symbology. The death of his representatives used to better the Altmer to subvert the Trickster's power.
