Shameless character pic thread I know, but I have to do it, I am sorry. Feel free to share your own altmer, I feel like they're one of the more difficult races to craft an appealing face with.

So... for awhile, using vanilla+some graphic and UI mods but nothing changing faces dramatically from vanilla, struggled to make an altmer that wasn't -

- Completely sadistic and evil looking to a comical degree, like an exaggerated Jaime Lannister crossed with a witch or something.

- An ugly yellow color.

- Messed up looking eyes

For awhile was considering dropping my now level 34 character to just play a Dunmer in spite of my preference for the Altmer racial. But luckily I gave it one last go on the showracemenu screen and got more creative than usual.

Trick apparently was using liberal amounts of dirt and face coloring along with a light war paint that blends enough that it doesn't look like war paint.

Beard also helps, as does a rusty colored hair rather than the blacker colors that bend toward the villain-look.

Anyway, final result -

Non-evil looking, not a banana color, reasonably rugged looking - enough to actually be a dungeon diving archer and not just some pampered mage up in a tower.

I think he looks fantastic. You achieved exactly what you set out to achieve: a rugged Altmer adventurer. Great job!

It seems you did everything you could to make him look unrecognizable as an Altmer.

Looks great. That skin tone makes him look a tiny bit similar to a Dunmer.

Not my kettle of fish as I prefer my Altmer golden and pompous, but you've certainly hit the mark here.

How so? He clearly still has all the prominent Altmeri facial features.

I prefer the altmer looking golden and pompous. They make for easier targets while walking all high and mighty along the road. I don't think I'd want to take this guys life he looks to interesting =).

Heh, perhaps he's a bit of Dunmer at heart and came from Morrowind. Or maybe the father was a Dunmer...

He does look Dunmer some but I do see the Altmer in him as well. A lot of my characters have an Altmer father so I roleplay crossbred man and mer families a lot and I have Dunmer and Altmer families too.

Good job with your Altmer he looks good but I wil say the yellow eyes and the Altmer of Skyrim are great but to each his own, love your Altmer friend.

I think he is well done and he certainly looks like an Altmer, not a Dunmer. Can't see where that came from.

I think he looks pretty cool ..... for an altmer, so he looks not completely gay and annoying.
