I have made a powerful enemy!

Walked into Nipton at level 5 and you know what i found.

I had done the ant slaying quest for the NCR and gotten the Carbine which now fires actual 5.56mm ammo, love it!

Confronted Caesars demented minion in front of the town hall and accepted his challenge, cutting down his whole troop with a bit of help from ED-E as they turned and sauntered pridefully off then returned to report on the town. Rather than take any more quests from the NCR I was determined to go to the next town to learn more about the Khans and the guy who had ordered my hit.

Got through the ambush with a bit of effort and some good shooting at the ones that popped up over the hill then moved on. I wasn't out of the canyon yet when I was confronted by a Legion hit squad.

It took a bit of running and stationing myself on the hill and sniping the guys who were concerned with ED-E and killed the group after about 150 rounds or more. Dang they were bullet sponges!

Emboldened I continued on and came to the overpass then went down to find Mercs shredding a legion caravan and looted the corpses. Decided I woud follow the mercs since they were going my way then THEY walked into a legion ambush and I got shredded!

Retreat!

Back at the NCR outpost after a good night's sleep, looks like I'm going to have to beef up my Courier before going any farther in that direction. A fun time!

Edit: I have a save from right before I entered Nipton and am wondering if it would not be wiser to let them go, any suggestions?
