A new style of fighting.

I always thought that if the game implemented a unarmed combat but as in if a guy drew his sword and ran at you, you may disarm him and either use his blade against him or finish him in some way.(A stomp to the head would be sufficient no matter the armor) Obviously on the other hand, punching a set of steel armor is impractical but this would make it so it's possible to use a character without a weapon in hands at all times and come now. It's badass to walk into a place and not have to draw your weapon to clear out a group of bandits.

This would make a good perk, or ability. How it would be set out I'm not so sure about...

Everyone wants unarmed combat to have its own perk tree, and everyone has their own ideas about what could go into it.

Unarmed was a fun skill in Oblivion. It would be cool to bring it back.

I'd combine Pickpocket and Lockpick into one category (Thief) and add in Athletics, which would determine running speed, hand to hand combat, and increases in carry weight.

I've combined unarmed with putting all my points into health and relying on alchemy and enchanting to pump up my fisting technique.

That, and I wear the Ebony Mail for the extra 5 points of poison damage to humanoids while being cloaked in Flame Cloack.

No need to put points into Stamina as long as you have some buffs (on footwear is recommended) to pump up the speed of stamina regeneration.

It's effective, even on Master Difficulty. No doubt it will be on Legendary, but that didn't exist back when I tested this.

Maybe the Slow Time shout would have some positive impact here as well, concidering the fact my char was a necromage vampire.

You can do some decent unarmed damage in this game, you just cant block while unarmed. If you take the heavy armor perk "fist of steel", and max out smithing, alchemy, and enchanting, you can smith some dragonbone gauntlets to around 300 armor, and you can enchant unarmed on your gear for 12 damage a piece.

A new style of combat? I say bring back an old TES skill, hand to hand. Make it viable, make it fun, don't force us to use cheesy exploits to enchant gauntlets powerful enough to make it work.

Good idea. I'd throw a bit of acrobatics into the mix - jumping height or damage received from falling.

Though I can understand why Bethesda excluded unarmed combat - 'excluded' as not including it as a viable option - because they decided (wrongly, I think) to cut down on the number of skills. Surely it would be better to merge Lockpicking with Pickpocket, and have Unarmed as the offensive skill for the Stealth tree.

Now, if they really wanted to do something nice to soothe the injury of prematurely 'ending' the game... but that's just an idea.

I don't know about "prematurely"... we got close to a year and a half's worth of support for Skyrim. Most games are lucky if they get six months.

Yes but most games have nowhere near the same level of content as Skyrim do they so you make an invalid comparison

Totally agree with this. That is why unarmed in previous games was comical and is better left out
