We need a assasin class that works.

I really feel like being a assasin in the game is to urealistic.Who thinks this needs to be corrected in upcoming titles?Sneaking is too easy and doesn't take into accoount lighting etc and when you succesfully sneak up on the target a kill hit should be fatal.

Your weapons are too weak then. I have 400 damage weapons with 3x archery sneak bonus and legendary difficulty. 1-3 shots when sneaking.

Pretty much sums up sneaking in this game.

playing as a stealth based assassin is already one of the funnest most powerful builds in the game.

So I disagree with your OP.

Sneak plus archery was one shotting nearly everything for my first character - Harkon took 2. Imagine how much damage you'd do with the 6x dagger sneak perk! Not sure how much more lethal you want.
She did have the sneak damage multipler perk, and a fire enchanted drgonbone bow, plus enchanted armour to boost her archery.
As note above, check your weapon, and you can add poison for a tough boss.

Man, playing as an assassin is fun!
I have to disagree with you.
Try experimenting with different weapons, magic. See what works best for you.

Skyrim's system does take lighting into account.

As for an "Assassin class that works," I'd say the assassin class in Skyrim works amazingly. The stealth system isn't the greatest, not by a long shot, but the class itself does work. It kills things dead. A lot of things. Quite easily in fact.

Well, playing an assassin is a bore anyway, sneaking or no, so. And classes no longer exist in Skyrim.

I will say that I hope the stealth system continues to improve. I would love that. I don't think anyone is opposed to having improved stealth. If you are... good for you?

And wanting locational damage? I don't know. That's a real iffy subject for me. It's just so difficult to execute properly for me. I'd leave that out.

And sneak hits always being fatal? I can't say I would want that. You're saying it's too easy. Can you imagine how easy it would be if everything you sneak up on dies instantly? Besides, that's almost what happens anyways.

As for having a good assassin class? We do. As said before, they are among the most powerful builds in the entire game. It doesn't get much more good than that.

In Embershard Mine, my level 2 Nightblade missed a shot with her bow, thus alerting two bandits to someone in the vicinity. They started searching for her, so she hid in the shadows and kept still. One of the bandits came within 5 feet of her and was none the wiser.

This was with level 20 sneak and no perks. So lighting does play a part.

The problem I have with locational damage is this: I expect to play by the same rules the computer is bound to (unless the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1457831-regarding-the-lip-sync-bug/), and if locational damage was in effect, I'd expect it to go both ways, and I'm not fond of the idea of suddenly getting one-shotted by an archer 50 miles away when I really have no realistic means of preventing it.

That's exactly the reason I am iffy about it. It's a cool, realistic concept. I just hate thinking about being on the short end of it.

It svcks. I recently started using a mod for it which is brilliant. But I've lost count of how many times an Archer has one shot killed me with a head or neck shot.

Forgot to add that, despite the above, it's really fun.

I can imagine. Like I said, that's my only gripe with the system.

Maybe the helmet armor should be able cancel a one shot kill? That could make it bearable. It would go both ways though.

I wouldn't mind a system of locational damage that increased/multiplied damage based on where you hit (head, neck, joints etc.) but I wouldn't want it to be an automatic headshot = death system.

I also wouldn't mind a limb crippling system, and the ability to knock out people rather than killing them.

How about... 100% increase for head/neck? Then like half damage for hitting arms/legs. And the body just being normal damage. Other than the heart, which is like a 50% increase.

Of course, they would have different effects too. Enough damage to your arms, you may drop a weapon. To the legs, you may stumble. To the chest, you may struggle to run/regain stamina. To the head... 100% increase is good enough for that.

That seem workable?
