Hey all, I just got around to playing New Vegas for the first time on this machine. I played fallout 3 to the death, and i rarely ever lose any frames below the 50's, unless for some demented reason i decide the MIRV needs to be fired fifty times into the sky.

I booted up new vegas, and right away, i was getting 35-40 frames in Doc Mitch's house, went outside, got extremely jumpy from the 40s-50-60 range, When i left town it was 55-60, but the minute anything that wasn't a rock came into view, my framerate plummeted from 60 to 30.

As far as mods go...

New Vegas has Project Nevada,

FO3 has FOOK + FWE + MMM + Enclave commander + Darnified UI.

My system specs are as follows: AMD Athlon(II) 645 Quad core processor, A Twin Frozr II 560ti (2gb) and 6gb of RAM.

For what it's worth, i think it might be a CPU issue.

I've found that FO3 runs smoother than FNV. I have not too dissimilar specs to you and notice that FNV will stutter for a fraction of a second when loading some landscapes where FO3 is fine. I notice it more when I run around. I've alway put it down to FO3 being better optimised. Don't know if that's correct or if I've just made it up.

Obsidian did run out time and they didn't just cut content...my friend being in a senior position said that bethesda is unique in it's approach to the fps and glitch problems. Bethesda has the "is the game playable" mentality--the fps and other glitches fnv currently has doesn't stop ypu from playing. The Nipton game corruption glitch was surprising since they let that pass.

Make sure you disable the gamepad rumble in the Prefs files.
