How many dragons have attacked you simutaneously?

Post » Wed Jul 03, 2013 6:23 pm

I have had quite a few encounters with 2 dragons, enough to know it's possible and not all that rare. Today though, when I exited the Jarl's longhouse in Falkreath, I saw that the guards had their bows out and my compass showed a faded dot moving very quickly. Initial thought? Oh there is a dragon. I look up and sure enough, there he is. So I start prepping my character for a fight, summon an antronach to do some tanking, quaff a few potions to increase my resistance and marksmanship when suddenly the ground shakes and you hear that resounding THUMMMP! behind you. It was another dragon. So I turn and run away (my guy doesn't like getting up close to dragons...or anybody for that matter) and as I'm running I look up and see the other dragon starting to come in for a fly by frost attack, when yet a third dragon lands on the top of the Alchemy shop and is looking right at me. Couldn't believe it.

So after lots of arrows and poisons, all 3 dragons went down, nobody died, and I was overloaded with Dragon bones and scales.

Next time, there had better be 4.

(for reference, it was an Elder, Frost, and Blood dragon, Master Difficulty, Level 42 Khajiit Cryptstalker).

To say the least, I had a very interesting lunch break.

EDIT: (and yes, I know about the typo in the title).

A poll would be good. :)

I have had 3 attack me outside Redoran's Retreat in Whiterun.

3. It was on Solstheim outside of a Dwemer ruin. I was going up this hill when a duo of Legendary Dragons ambushed me. I must've run into a random encounter zone because an Ancient popped up right after. So just me against 3 high leveled Dragons. Master difficulty BTW.

I won after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. IRL too.

I once had two dragons going around, but I could only get one to fight me. And, he was mostly distracted by a Dragon Priest. I even tried to get another dragon to spawn via a shout, but that did nothing for me.

The only time I ever had two dragons at the same time was when one was just one of those annoying ones who just flies around and doesn't attack. I did have an interesting experience once that bears repeating.

I was out in the east, not sure which Hold it was, all I knew was that there were some hot springs and one of the Standing Stones and a dragon popped up. I showed him who the boss was and then fast traveled back to Whiterun to store the bones and scales in my house. Once I exited Breezeome, Whiterun got his by a dragon, so I showed him who was boss too and stashed his bones and scales as well before fast traveling back to the stone to continue on my quest where, admits the bones of the first dragon a THIRD attacked. I just saved a quit for a while after that, I was a little dragoned out.

I've had three appear in the sky, but only two attack me at once. I no longer play with random dragon spawns anymore, so the dragon fights aren't so trivial when encountered now.

2 at one time for me, an ancient dragon and a legendary. The ancient was the first to move in then the legendary just so happened to be passing by at the time. It doesn't happen to me as much as I would like

Two at once, but after that I promptly got attacked by another...and then another. That was the straw that broke the camels back. After those dragon attacks I immediately downloaded the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14519/? mod from the Nexus. Problem solved.

Passing through dawnstar, a duo of two ancient dragons show up (along with a giant and a frost troll)

this was before the days of legendary and revered dragons

safe to say most of dawnstar perished, helluva fight

I had an early character literaly run through Skudafn, I decided to use the Storm Call Shout because of the Draugr and two Dragons, The Shout made the Fight four Dragons against one Dragonborn. My character died quickly, I never thought about entering the Temple and recovering.

The most I have been attacked by at the same time is two, but three close together is not that uncommon near a Word Wall.

I was thinking that, but being such a simple answer that could have an awesome story attached behind it made me think against a poll and sometimes polls imo detract people from sharing that story imo :)

The most I've ever had is two at once, outside Whiterun.

On the 360, I had 3 dragons attack me at one time, but it only happened once. In addition, one of the dragons was a mere copy of the second, imitating its movements right down to the breathing of fire. I realized it had to be a rendering glitch, considering the identical movements, but it still made the fight awesome.

Thankfully, there was no one around, for they would have been instant s'mores had they been stupid enough to engage three of them with an iron dagger.

I did get a few hairs singed in the battle, but ultimately, I prevailed, thanks to some rocks and a boatload of arrows.

Initially I thought, by seeing 4, that that was utterly impossible, without mods. Then I realized that you were attacked by 3.

Personally, I have never had more than 2. It was only because I ran into another encounter zone and the initial Dragon just followed me. I'm not 100% on board with how it is possible for more than one to spawn as a result of a single random encounter event.

Not calling anyone out, by any means, just saying I don't understand how it happens.

Three. That happens easily at Arcwind Point.

What makes that place such an easy location for this to happen?

I mean mechanically, how does that happen there as opposed to any other scripted Dragon Wall location?

Well, there is a Dragon perched up there above where the boss is (Deathlord or Priest). Nearby Arcwind Point is Autumnwatch Tower, also a Dragon there.
