You know, the old guy in Megaton who looks after the waterworks plant? The guy you can sell scrap to. That guy.

He is missing.

In fact, in a lot of playthroughs I've done in recent memory, after a certain amount of time in the game, old Walter just disappears for some reason. Is this a known glitch or something?

And before you say stuff like "have you tried....", "have you looked....", believe me I have turned Megaton upside DOWN looking for the guy, several times in fact.

He's just gone gone gone.

Anyone know anything about this?
