Slower combat time

"Hi there.

One of my favorite mods for Morrowind is Combat Enhanced because it has this ability called trance where both you and the enemies go into slow motion during combat. This makes it easier to execute combat combos. Otherwise the game is way too fast, and the combat is way too hectic and messy to execute said combos.

Now in Skyrim, I am having the same problem where combat just moves too fast and is way too messy and hectic at times. If there was a way to slow down combat for both me and the enemy, that would make it easier to use mods where you can aim for different body parts on the enemy.

I know the technology is there because Skyrim already has:

- Slow motion kill moves

- Slow time and many slow time mods

but slow time keeps me moving fast while the npc's are slowed so this gives me a huge and unfair advantage. I would love a mod where both me and the npc's are slowed down during combat.

Combat enhanced in Morrowind had variable slow down speeds, so you could make the game faster or slower depending on personal preference."

Also the main reason is that this will keep combat immersive without have to pause the game, go to your menu, and select stuff. You will have more time to strategize and hotkey things like potions and such without have to pause the game. Plus it would be so epic. I could imagine this would 'turn on' when you draw your weapon or when battle music comes on, I dunno. Optional of course as most 'battles' wouldn't need you scrolling though different strategies to win.

I might just teach myself how to mod (as time consuming and hard it will be) to make this. I think it would be so nice to have. Thoughts?

sounds like a cool mod.

i think you can just change player movement, attack, recovery, etc. actor values while applying a standard slow time effect to achieve this. just make a papyrus script and link it to a power for testing. start with the base slow time shout and expand it to some actor value multiplication modification while in combat. seems simple to me.

then link it to a global value which can be set from MCM or via console and make it auto-cast when combat mode is engaged and player has their weapons drawn.
