It's funny because it's true :lmao:

What is funnier that mods fixed this for Fallout 3 already. Simply just increased time enemies stay alert after a detection event, and have a script that generates detection events on a fresh corpse for a while. Keeps enemies searching for the player for a longer amount of time, increasing the changes of being found. Simple but effective, makes sneak no longer a god mode.

The flipside problem to this is animals like Mudcrabs inexplicably becoming alert and looking around after you kill one of their brethren. YOU'RE A CRAB, STOP LOOKING FOR ME

That still doesn't address the inappropriate response. Longer alert time won't stop the NPC from saying idiotic things while he's bleeding out from an arrow. Speaking of which, an NPC with an arrow in his head shouldn't even be conscious to begin with.
