Didn't hear about this. Crytek to do away with SP. Lame.

Wanting to do away with single player campaign. Wow! That would break my heart. Some BS, if this happens.

Cevat Yerli

"I think the notion of a single-player experience has to go away. However, I’m not saying that there will be no single-player experiences… It could be it’s called Connected Single-Player or Online Single-Player instead."

Meh, Crytek aren't really a player in the market anymore. Move along, move along.

I'm assuming that he means something like what Serious Sam 3 did for co-op. It's the exact same thing as the SP progression, but you have the option of doing it with up to 16 people. You can make the lobby private, too, to restrict it to those with a password (i.e. or play by yourself). I think he's talking about just consolidation of these two ideas.

Knowing Yerli and his very apparent lack of knowledge about how to NOT piss off his playerbase I would bet he wants to do something like Titanfall instead.

I have a feeling Crytek will have to sell some studios soon to stay afloat in the future. They need to abide by this rule.

Keep It Simple Stupid

Cevat always overcomplicates things for no dang reason.

Only 1 in twelve people who played Crysis 1 actually payed for it.

Cevat wants some of the 90+% to pay cash for his work and one way to do that is to shovel in DRM on singleplayer games and tell the consumer it's about "being connected" and "social benefits" so they don't cry foul.

I deffinetly can′t believe those numbers, but leaving that aside who′s fault it really is?

Of those players who downloaded it how many actually managed to play the game? And of those how many managed to get enough FPS to have a decent enough gampley experience?

I know I couldn′t for 3-4 whole years, and even I could my PC would have catched fire in about 20 minutes of gameplay.

As much of a great game that it was, it was extremly bad optimized and almost no one could play it or run it properly even at low settings - pretty much how a lot of people were abandoned with C3′s DX11 only support (to have more time for bug fixing and optimizing? Ha!)

Yes but Cevat is just as trustworthy as the guy in the metro at midnight that looks at you funny.

Also there is the thing called "first try and see if you like it, then buy it", which I′m so proud of doing and of my country for allowing me to do it legally. Just like 1 month ago I tryed out Blazblue and right away I had the urge to run at the store and even buy a second copy (for my PSP).
