{WIPZ} swrdphantom's garden pack

Post » Thu Apr 15, 2010 12:26 am

This is an idea that I've been kicking around my head for a few weeks and now have gotten started on.... a little bit. :hehe:

What this will be is a resource pack of plants (tulips, daffodils, irises, and a few others are planned) and garden related items (circular/semicircular and square stone patios, gazebos, topiaries, et cetera) that I'm making meshes for, and I'm going to try to use original textures (or your favorite texture replacers) as much as possible.
So far I've made a few 'test' meshes-

Right now I'm looking for ideas on what else to make, and eventually feedback on what I'm making. I'm in a mood to create, or rather loose myself in the creative process, so I'm open to all ideas. :)

neat, I could certainly use those! Can't wait to see some more.

As far as what else you could make... maybe some http://www.wrapables.com/images/product/C06022.jpg or some http://images.mastergardening.biz/items/POT-9024.jpg http://lh4.ggpht.com/_t8-Y4w1UKrc/Sd44DecotRI/AAAAAAAAX9o/QPzGw9EvzDQ/image_thumb%5B53%5D.png?imgmax=800

I love the idea of topiaries. And more plants and garden items are very welcome. :)

That's a great idea! Maybe you could include unusual and exotic flowers, like the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strelitzia.

Are you able to cobble together some flowers - a 3d version of the gold kanet as a replacer would be nice - I quite like adding bunches of flowers to vases in home building and it would be good to actually have a bunch that could be placed in a vase in game - don't mind if they use the original textures

sounds like some really nice resources. they are always welcome and id defenatly be interested in them as i have hundreds of resources stored on cd. for furture use. always nice to see another talented modder of meshes. . keep up the good work thanks.

I took a weekend trip so I haven't gotten much done yet (although I took some pics that might be good for texture sources). I did however do a few things today-

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/pot.jpg (I can adjust the scale for multiple options)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/facefountain1.jpg (using Bethesda's water spout bits and a face mesh made by me, which still needs tweaking  )

Err, I'm not quite getting what you're asking, do you mean you'd like a bundle of flowers like a bouquet, or something else?

I like the new pot and the face water feature is a good idea - there's not enough fountains or intersting water supplies in MW

As to the flowers yes - a bouquet would be great like the french modders did with Vivic Plage - they only did one bunch though - http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/9595/flowersi.png

I was also interested if you could do a more 3d version of some of the flowers gold kanet is very flat - is it possible to replace it with something that looks like it hasn't been pressd between a book? I guess like how the modders above tried to do a new willow flowere.

Perhaps you can consider converting some freeware Blender models for use in Morrowind ?

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y76/Caultus/goldkanetbundle1.jpg  It's not as flat as it looks, but it was made to match up with the original texture, I may go for all new textures to open up more possibilities.

Slartibartfast1, I tried just converting the tree models to the nif format and got a "Too many vertices, decimate your mesh and try again" error message. I'm going to try a few more ideas, but I'm not sure how far I'll get.
