What if Fallout 4 had a REAL Radio Station?

Post » Tue Jul 09, 2013 3:47 pm

The title pretty much speaks for itself. What if Fallout 4 had an actual radio station that you could listen to when connected to the internet? Bethesda could hire DJs, and it would be dynamic with a lot more variety.

Would that be something you guys would want? Would it feasible?

What do you think?

EDIT: This probably belongs in the current Fallout 4 Speculation Thread, doesn't it?

1 quite costly to have djs hired indefinitely.
2 it would end up only being for a short period.
3 they music should stay within a certain genre how is having loads of DJs gonna help?

Having different DJs is just for the sake of variety. I don't want to hear the same guy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Plus, there would have to be more than one to keep it broadcasting all day and night, unless they had a list of songs automatically playing late at night. And it can still stay a certain genre. Most radio stations do that.

It only needs to last a few years. After that they can replace it with the typical Fallout format, or replay recordings of the original broadcasts, which would be, at that point, quite substantial.

I think money is the only big issue. Ads would obviously ruin the immersion, so it would be quite costly. But I'm sure there would be plenty of college student willing to do it for minimum age. Although, hearing a bunch of teenagers all the time could ruin immersion as well.

Having DJs continually running a station? Sounds expensive. Maybe it could happen if there were a subscription fee or something.

I mean the writers would be working forever trying to think of new things for the djs to say that is relevant to fallout which they would run out of.

I wouldn't mind maybe some podcasts now and then from Bethesda that you can opt in for but that's about it.

Also Bethesda would have to purchase the rights to play these songs.

As mentioned already, it sounds quite expensive and I doubt it would last very long.

hireing around ehh 3 djs would cost around 150 K cause my is a dj and I wont get personal with his annual earnings but after youve been and expieienced dj and and proved your worth you can make around 50K or more a year, but theres operating costs as welll so idk possible but unlikely cool idea for sure tho.

But that's forgetting rights to the songs and writers to provide character for the dj

I know it's expensive, but I don't now if it's too expensive. I don't know enough about how radio stations work to know that. But we all know that it gets really boring listening to the same songs over, and over, and over for 500 hours. It'd be really nice to have something with more variety.

And maybe the Djs wouldn't even have to say anything FO related. There's always the default in-game radio station/s for that. They could just introduce song, play song, repeat. There could even just be no DJs at all. I just want more variety.
