Terrain not loading properly

Post » Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:14 pm

So I have this problem with terrain loading ( not only terrain though, also all characters and every other possible thing ). Here are four screenshots, first two are the perfectly loaded terrain. Everything is present, including all objects, creatures and characters. Second two screenshots are of not loaded terrain, objects and characters. Sometimes it takes a reload of the game for everything to load, sometimes to enter the inventory, sometimes a save. Every time it's different, but in the long run this kind of play doesn't really work. Any way to fix this?

When happend this, all the time you play (after x hours) or occasionally ????

Have you any mods installed ????

--------------------------------

Have you done a "Verify integrity of game cache"

for XP users:

  1. Exit Steam
  2. Go to the "Start" menu, select "Run", type "regedit" and click "OK"
  3. Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VALVE
  4. Right-click and select "Permissions"
  5. Check the "Allow" boxes for "Admin" and "System" for both "Full control" and "Read".
  6. Launch Steam against and proceed to the section of this article titled "Verify integrity of game cache"

after that...

  1. Load Steam
  2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
  3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
  4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
  5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

--------------------------------

Which Graphic card you have ????

(btw. have you the latest drivers installed, DirectX ????)

Are you using the HD texture packs or any other texture mods? If you are, try disabling them and see if the textures load properly.

Mark41, did the verification of game files, didn't help. I have GeForce GT 430. All the latest drivers are installed, including direct x. This happens every time I load the game. It loads a portion of the terrain with the objects, characters etc, but if I leave that portion the last two screenshots show the result, and for the game to fix this, it requires a reload/save/inventory entry, things like that. It feels the game needs a manual reload via the ways I wrote before, and it doesn't want to reload/load automatically.

Gator Country, no I'm not using any texture mods that replace the original. Not even the official ones. This is the list of the mods I'm using:

SkyUI

Unofficial patches

Cloaks

MidasSkyrim

But even with all the plugins turned off this problem still persists.

The GT 430 is a pretty low end card. Try reducing your graphics to the lowest possible settings and see how the game runs. If you can get it to run at the lowest settings, try gradually increasing them until it starts to become unplayable.

And leave all your global settings at default state, except:

Texture Filtering: High quality

Vsync: on

Set in game:

AA + AF: off

The GT 430 is a weak-mild in performance. And "Mild" is pushing it!

And it's a 64 bit or 128 bit version ?

And what processor do you have ?

Faster processors pushing low end card's and you will gain a couple of "bonus" frames.
