OK, just joined the Thieves' guild, getting ready to head back out into Riften and no matter what exit I take, in waiting for me is Maven Black Briar and her guards, and before being attacked I see the message displayed "You have attacked a member of the Thieve's Guild!"

I get killed pretty quick as my character is only Level 11, so I really have no prayer against them...wondering if I can do a console trick to remove this, as I have never attacked anyone in the Thieves' Guild, other than the few people who attacked me on my way...

anyone have anything that might be able to help with this??

The fact that you're attacking someone without meaning to sounds like some kind of cloak spell erroneously set to Hostile. Cloak spells are often used for dynamic mods, such as Wet and Cold and Dynamic Things (those should be safe, I run them without problems). Have you added any mods of that type recently?

The message pops when you leave the guild, right? So, before you leave you should be fine. Once the auto-attacking is fixed, you'll be able to leave the guild and continue safely.

I'm not sure why Maven Black-Briar is always hanging around the exits, but your mod list should help with that.

Yes, it does seem odd Maven would be out and about herself to take care of business, lol...add to that her psychic ability to determine the exit I am leaving, and it becomes a little fishy...

Try typing the following into the console:

player.StopCombatAlarmOnActor

That should stop anybody wanting to fight the player character. As with any console commands, make a save before using it, just in case
