Town battles : Fallout 3

I was inspired earlier for roleplaying, and does anyone know any towns or groups that are at war nearby or often fight? Civil wars, sieges, etc? Is the town that is attacked by super muties attacked once or all the time?

Big Town only gets attacked once in-game. If you don't help them, they'll get attacked again while you're gone and will be wiped out. As far as I know, you can't witness the second attack.

You can find Talon Co and super mutants going at it large scale at the Capital Building, but that's not really a town battle.

Other than during the MQ and Broken Steel, I don't think there are any real town battles. They're all too distant and unrelated to get into conflict with each other. The Pitt DLC offers a big faction battle too.

Any last stand/ defenses though?

Well Big Town's really the only one you have to defend. If you do the Rilley's Rangers Quest, there's a holdout in that too. For the most part, there aren't a lot of major battles in Fallout 3 that are outside the main questline.
