Anyone else not played Dragonborn? (But has it)

Post » Sat Jul 13, 2013 7:21 pm

Maybe I'm just weird, but I got Dragonborn ages ago, and have just not got around to playing it at all... :/

And I was just randomly wondering, am I the only one? Or does anyone else sometimes get DLC and then somehow end up distracted by Mods/Modding/Vanilla, and just not actually get around to playing the DLC stuff?

Well, I don't have access to mods, but Dragonborn is usually the last thing I do before I retire my characters.

Haven't bought Dragonborn yet (will soon now that it's on sale), but I have a similar thing with Dawnguard - bought it in the beginning of January, still haven't played it. I've done Lost To The Ages, that's it.

And I had Hearthfire for quite a while before I built my first and so far only HF house.

I bought HF and DG during the Steam December sale and just got DB in the recent sale but haven't loaded any of them. The first two seemed super buggy from the comments and I may never try them but I am looking forward to DB; may load that up next week.

I bought all three DLC at once the day Dragonborn was released for PC. But I haven't played Hearthfires or Dragonborn yet. I am, right now, working my way through Dawnguard for the first time.

Same here ha ha :D Such is the brilliant sheen distracting of SKYRIM where the non-DLC areas keep getting my attention. Makes me wonder if I will ever leave the DLC zones once I start to play them.

I have all 3, but haven't played Dragonborn or Dawnguard, and only a little Hearthfire. My current character is supposed to play Dawnguard but she got sidetracked when finding Meridia's Beacon (she's a Meridia worshipper so....) and has been in the Solitude area since.

I have used Solstheim to pretend it is Vvardenfell and take screenshots of one particular Dunmer's past, and of Nerevar's death :geek:

And my characters tend not to be the kind who care for a house, so only one has started to build one.

There are things I haven't done in the vanilla game either.

I haven't "wasted my money." I plan to play all of the DLCs. Before I'm finished I will have played them many times, I'm sure. I just haven't played them yet. "Wasting my money" would be buying the DLC and then never playing them. See the difference?

I haven't played it yet; it doesn't mean that I'll never play it.

It's great; why don't you want to play it?

I've had a hard time getting around to it. I started a replay of Skyrim to play the DLCs(other than hearthfire) but it hasn't been holding my interest for long periods at a time so I haven't gotten very far. Started on Dawnguard first.

I have a level 57 DiD character on legendary right now which in retrospect perhaps getting to that point burned me out more than a less grindy and cheese-tastic choice of how to play would've.

I probably need more mods but sometimes I get a little purist about games and want to play them "the way the devs intended!!!" which with Skyrim is a terrible idea obviously since they clearly didn't have much of an idea what they were doing with combat/character build balance.

Not sure that I understand what you mean but you cannot say that someone who bought it will never play it. I've never played Shivering Isles although I have it and I know I'll play it. (The situation is a bit different in this case because I bought Oblivion on Steam and it came with all the dlcs.)

The 'problem' with TES is that you can be side-tracked by just about anything. I will spend entire play sessions travelling around transporting my personal belongings I've gathered back to my house and then sorting it all out into the correct chests. I only just got Dragonborn anyway, so...

I've played it plenty of times. Why haven't you gotten around to playing it yet? It's actually extremely interesting. But yeah, I've gotten some DLC's and never messed around with the content, but only on other games. Such as some of the minor content on Oblivion, or Map Packs for First-Person Shooters like Halo or CoD.
