The Playable Lich in Skyrim

Post » Thu Apr 15, 2010 3:50 am

Ha! No, godhood is the real challenge. Lichdom is cheap immortality, no matter what you think. Mannimarco (daggerfall one) does make it look cool though, but he has waited to give Arkay the middle finger for 1000s of years, and paid off when he got ahold of the Numidium, which he used to ascend into godhood. Lichdom was only used to make sure he could live that long for an opportunity of ascension would present itself.

touche, well then maybe it would be cool if for your character if you could follow the same path as him, since he was destroyed? hmmm

and well if they add mannimarco back to skyrim they have to make him actually god-like and come to think of that would be a good idea, anyway i never played, daggarfall, i tried to get into it but i just couldnt the graphics just pained my eyes, could you explain the NUMIDIUM and how it works and if its still possible to obtain, to see if it could be integrated in skyrim, and if it could help me understand if it would be possible to follow mannimarcos path, is it possible to have a secondary mannimaro like villain to be played in skyrim???????

I don't think he was destroyed. You might say he is, I don't believe that High elf pansy was Manimarco.

yeah eh! what the hell kind of boss was that? all this hype of the renowned super overlord of the necromancers immortal god, and i run up and drop his ass before I even knew the battle was over, such a disappointment, anyway they have to resurrect him so i can have a challenge, or this time when i ask to join him, he'll be smart this time and accept my offering.

Agreed, though I will tolerate that Mannimarco we saw as an avatar of the God of Worms. Or a Numidium [censored] up, and there are multiple King of Worms and 1 God of Worms.

i dont understand, could you explain multiple king of worms and 1 god of worms, do you mean mannimarco is the god of worms, and that mannimarco has right hand men that are his kings, or am i totally ass backwards.

Mannimarco pre-ascension was known as the King of Worms. Mannimarco the god is known as the God of Worms. And what I am willing to see is that the Warp of the West ended up splitting Mannimarco, 7 (or was it 6?) King of Worms Mannimarcos due to the endings where he didn't get the Numidium, and 1 God of Worms Mannimarco due to that one instance Mannimarco did get the Numidium.

do you mean the dragonbreak or whatever it was where all possible outcomes ended the same way or something like that right?

goblins? that would be gay, well what do you think would, vamps? BORING, Lycans? meh.

Goblins make sense as a playable race while any race could become a vampire, lycan or lich.

Oh and stop double posting already, you can edit your posts you know.

If it involves magic, then no, I wouldn't want it. I've never really cared for magic; always been more of a stealth and ranged weapon kind of person. Now if I could be a lich theif and my joints don't creek.... ;)

Well, I like the idea. We have already been given the opportunity to become werewolfes and vampires, so why not liches? Werewolfes were for the more warrior-type, while vampire was kind of versatile (favoring rouges?), while a lich could be the way to go for mages/necromancers.

The player would have to do a series of difficult quests, invest a great amount of gold, wait for a long time, defend their phylactery, be weak for a long time and so forth. It should be really challenging (not impossible of course).

The phylactery would after the transformation need to be protected in your "Spire of darkness" by your minions and servants which you can create. If you have it in your tower/spire, you would upon destruction be transported back to your phylactery, lose some experience (equipment?), and would have ti wait in your spire for some days to regain your strength. if you don′t feel comfortable to have it in your spire (it might get attacked, though never during main quest; don′t know how that would work), you could carry it with you, altough if you are destryed while wearing it, you would be completely destroyed (load).

Your skill in necromancy (which we all hope will be added as a skill or magic school) will be able to reach new heights, your INT and WIS would rise, while dexterity and endurance would be lowered. People would react negatively to you, except for necromancers and some mages (not in the guild), and prehaps the dark brotherhood, though I doubt it. Most people won′t attack you, because of fear, awe or simply just not feeling like it, but you will have a more difficult time interacting with other people.

At the end of the questline to become a lich, you also have a choice to turn from the path, or do something good instead, like sacrificing the ingredients needed to make the phylactery to save someone else (or something like that).

Being a lich, you would get some more quests, generic and otherwise, that never end (any ideas what those quests might be, anyone? Fighting of paladins and "good" mages prehaps and assisting your necromantic buddys).

Of course this needs some fleshing out, but to be a creature of evil (yeah, no good liches!), have a fearsome spire, with dungeons, lackeys, minions, gardens, library, "preparation table" and so forth, would be really, really fun.

You don't need two topics on the same subject. If I merge them you will loose the poll as it is the newer topic, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1155274-playable-lich-in-skyrim-poll/
