Well I just found and ebony shield....

equipped it....

gave it to Serena...

found another ebony shield....

equipped it for myself....

and while fighting I noticed I was bashing with my hands...

I thought to myself,"COOL!"

Then it just got annoying...

I restarted my Xbox360, and re-loaded about 3 times...

Are you a vampire by chance? There is a bug that causes the ebony shield to not show up if you are.

This has happened to me before and it was with a none vampire character.

The only way I fixed it was reload an earlier save when the bug was not present. It's very annoying.

For vampire characters, the shield will not be shown when equipped, nor will it provide any protection.

The Ebony Shield and Blades Shield are the only two confirmed shields to be affected by this bug.

Removing Vampirism solves the problem, but...a real fix still hasn't been discovered.
