Mages, Sorcerers, Wizards! What do you wear?

Post » Sun Jul 14, 2013 12:54 pm

I've been playing my mage a lot lately, almost up to 120 hours, and I am getting really tired of his... attire.

I finished Dawnguard before any other quest chain to get rid of the pesky vampire attacks, and I fell in love with the black version of the vampire armor. I have been using it ever since, with black gloves, and the dark mage hood.

However, I am very tired of my vampire armor, and I want something new. I spent like 5 hours yesterday just sitting at my homestead and in Solitude, trying desperately to find an outfit I liked for my mage, to no avail. I'm going to sound very picky, but bear with me. I really liked the mantled college robes paired with the mage hood. However, I really dislike the way the upper arms look when moving and how the arm is thicker by the elbow than it is up towards the shoulder. I have the Archmage robes, but I really dislike them, especially how the poncho part behaves when I move. I almost settled on the version of the college robes that Tolfdir and the other master college members wear, the darker version without a mantle, but, since I need a helm for enchanting, I found I couldnt really use that version because to me, using a mage hood with the dark mantleless version just looks akward.

Im not a big fan of big thick robes like the temple robes or the telvanni robes(not sure my nord would wear those anyway). The dunmer outfit actually looks really cool and I can work with that,.. but it feels wierd wearing it as a Nord. I dont know...

So anyway, what do you mages wear? I need help.

My future Dunmer will be wearing robes, as he grows stronger, he'll wear Light then Heavy.

Hooded black robes, Vampire boots and vampire gloves or ancient Nord armour, gauntlets and boots.

I tried the standard hooded robes too. I like the look a lot but when Im moving around in combat I just hate how the scarf thing waggles.

Telvanni robes/Herma Mora cultist robes.

If you're a bad-ass Dragonborn sorcerer, than Miraak's attire.

Pending the character, I am constantly changing attire. I favor mixing up heavy, light and clothing to get the desired look I want. This is almost always mod influenced as well. The epic quality and massive quantity of options is near overwhelming.

Ironically, that is a problem I am glad to have.

if you dont mind you can kill one of the priests in raven rock, (one of them is fairly unpleasant so I had no qualms) for some greenish robes with a hood that looks fresh

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8772/? may include all you are looking for. I use it for every playthrough.

EDIT : Wait a min... You are looking for something that doesn't exist. DP's don't wear gloves and boots. If you want to duplicate a DP, you need an http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6537/?, a http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/12092/? and the masks. That link I provided will allow the masks with no AR.

?

His robes are accessible if you have Dragonborn DLC. If you want them without fighting him, I can give you the console command and code ids.

Well, a quick search revealed http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=125405217, if you are looking for a Miraak set.

Ooo I like that one. I might be able to make something work with the blue dunmer outfit and a temple hood...

It contains the unenchanted Miraak set as well. I thought that was what you were looking for.

My Necrowarrior is a Necromantic battlemage. Who uses frost magic and necromancy.

She wears Daedric as it fits her Gothic appearance, but also her atmosphere, which is very dark.

I can imagine that the fingers of her gauntlets are so cold and powered by black magic that it send chills down the spine of the one she touches.
